CHECKLIST OF THE STANDARDS

No Prompts: You must make your own decisions. Your instructor should not have to tell you to brake, speed up, or change lanes.
Mirror Checks: You must check your mirrors every time you change your speed or direction.
Safe Speed: Always drive at the right speed for the road and weather. Do not just follow the speed limit if the road is narrow or busy.
Junctions & Roundabouts: You must approach and move through junctions, crossroads, and roundabouts safely and in the correct gear.

AM I READY?

CHECKLIST OF THE STANDARDS

You are ready for your driving test when you can drive safely, smoothly, and independently without any help from your instructor. You must be able to:

handle all road types
manage your nerves
make zero serious mistakes.

TEST FORMAT REQUIREMENTS

Eyesight Check: You must be able to read a modern car number plate from a distance of 20 metres.
Show Me, Tell Me: You must answer one vehicle safety question before driving and perform one while driving (e.g., using the windscreen wipers).
Independent Driving: You must be able to drive for 20 minutes by following either a sat-nav or road signs.
Manoeuvres: You must safely perform a manoeuvre like parallel parking or pulling up on the left. The examiner focuses on your observation skills.

You will fail the test immediately if you make even 1 serious or dangerous fault.
